Teachers,
There have been reports that students are trying to join Zoom meetings with fake names and/or profile pictures.  You can easily prevent this from happening by changing your settings on your Zoom account.  Below is a 3 minute video of me showing you how to get to those settings and what to set them to. *Remember to only admit your current students to your classroom; if a student has shared your Zoom link with other people, anyone can ask to get in.  This is why it is crucial that you have the Waiting Room feature turned on in your settings as well.

Prevent students from changing their display name in Zoom and/or their profile picture - Watch Video

No time for a video? Here are the steps:
Go to Zoom.us and sign in with Google (school email)
Click Settings on the left
Click In Meeting (Basic)
Scroll down to "Allow participants to rename themselves" and turn that OFF
Scroll down to "Hide participant profile pictures in a meeting" amd turn that ON
Check through all of your other settings to make sure you have them set to your liking.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Rachel

Here’s how it works:

  • Share this G2 Review link with your Dyknow teachers to leave a review. (Tip: click the G2 Review link, click Continue to Log In, click Sign in with Google (Business) and select your school email).
  • The school or district with the most reviews by January 31st will receive a $500 donation from Dyknow to a program of your choice (PTO, Education Foundation, PPE, etc.)
